Deposits
When preparing the documentation to deposit the business’s money into the bank will involve completing a Bank Deposit Slip. These are often issued in a booklet by the bank. This slip is a summary of the business’s deposits. It includes all cash, cheques and credit card sales/ credit vouchers deposited in the business’s account.
Bank deposit slips will contain the following:
- Date money is deposited
- Name of the account – the name of the business.
- Details of the deposit – notes, coins, cheques & credit card transactions.
- Details of cheques – drawer, bank, branch (BSB) and amount
- Details of cash – the break up of denominations of coins and notes
- Signature of person depositing the money
- Total amount being deposited
