Instructions: The following task is to be submitted to your teacher in one of the two ways described below.
In this activity, you will be accessing the specific guidelines at Swaggies
for all their written communication. You will notice how particular they are about the presentation and layout of their Word Processed documents.

It is your job to produce a short booklet that contains the key elements of Swaggies procedures for written communication.
Step 1
- Go to
Swaggies (p29)
- Print this page. Be sure to go to the printer icon on the small toolbar that appears in the top left-hand corner of the Swaggies page. Do not go to File => Print
Read. While you are reading, highlight key words.
- Prepare a page (either by hand or on the computer) which is a 10 point guide for office workers to follow when word processing. This page is to be brief (not a copy of the manual) and suitable to pin up on everyone's workstation.
Step 2
Now you will be producing page 2 of the booklet
- Click on
Swaggies (p30) or Next Page
- Read the procedures for Style Guidelines
- Design a flow chart of all the style guidelines at Swaggies. Make it easy for anyone to follow
- Click on
Swaggies (p31) or Next Page
Step 3
Now you will be producing pages 3 and 4 of the booklet
(p31) (Business letters, Facsimiles, memos) and (p32) (Short reports, Promotional Material, Meeting Forms)
- Read pages 31 and 32. Highlight key words
Step 4 - Sample Documents

Click on sample memo
Print sample memo - this will be page 6 of the booklet
Step 5
- If possible, produce a cover sheet for the booklet that contains a title and your name.
- Attach all sheets in the correct order.
