Most employees performing clerical and administrative work are covered by the Clerical and Administrative Employees (State) Award. Common occupations for employees working in clerical and administrative jobs include clerks, secretaries, personal or executive assistants, receptionists, computer data processors, typists and stenographers.

A different award may apply to employees who: 1) Work in a:
• solicitor's office or law firm
• shop
• photographic studio or photo processing lab, mini lab
• charitable or non-profit nursing home
• motel

• Property officer or property manager in a real estate office
4) Work as a:
1) You may not be covered by an award if you work as a manager, or have managerial responsibilities 2) You work in the public sector, for any government agency or local council.
3) No NSW award covers work done by tele-marketers, researchers or travel consultants.
