Customers can pay their bills, do their banking or pay for services such as passport applications, motor vehicle registration and fishing licences at the post office.

Business Air Mail -This service delivers items to virtually any address in the world. This is a reliable, efficient and economical service for letters, documents and parcels up to 20kg.
Economy Air -the use of both off-peak processing and surface delivery means prices are significantly reduced.
Sea Mail -the most economical way to send parcels to almost any country in the world.
Registered Post -offers a variety of options including person to person delivery with signature of receiver obtained on delivery.
Cash on Delivery
Australia Post can collect payment from customers on delivery of letters and parcels.
EDIPost
EDIPost enables customers to securely post mail electronically from their computers to Australia Post for printing, processing, enveloping and delivery.
The EDIPost service reduces business processing, and handling costs and transport times. Express Post
Express Post is an economical next business day delivery service provided for letters, documents
and parcels. Next business day delivery is guaranteed (or receive another Express Post envelope free) to street addresses and Post Office Boxes within the extensive Express Post Network.
Giro Post
GiroPost is a banking service which began operation in 1995. It is available from 2,700 postal
outlets nationwide providing electronic banking transactions on behalf of 24 banks and financial institutions. GiroPost customers can undertake a variety of financial transactions at the post office using their credit and debit cards. They can make deposits, withdrawals or enquiries about their account balance, open new accounts and pay monthly credit card bills, with no additional
transaction fees.

Post Bill Pay
Customers have the convenience and flexibility of paying bills by telephone, internet or over the counter at the Post Office.
Insurance
Mail with proof of posting is automatically covered for a value of up to $50. However, customers
can take out extra insurance cover for mail and parcels lodged.

Messenger Post
Messenger Post was established in Melbourne in early 1994 to provide a range of premium quality courier services in response to business customer requirements for an urgent and same day delivery service.
Messenger Post offers a range of courier services to business customers, including permanent bookings. Its fleet includes push bikes, motor bikes, cars, and vans operated by professionally trained and uniformed representatives who meet the tight security requirements of Australia Post.

Money Orders
When sending payment through the mail, Australia Post Money Orders are safe and convenient and can be purchased at any Post Office. Cash must never be sent in the mail.
Parcel Post
Parcel Post can deliver parcels, small and large to almost anywhere in the country, including business, private and post office box addresses. There are also convenient pre-paid parcel satchels available at the Post Office.
Post Office Boxes
A Post Office Box allows you to receive your mail much earlier than normal street delivery. It is secure and can be accessed 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
PostPak
Australia Post has range of packaging products called Postpak. Postpak products eliminate the need for wrapping parcels. Specially designed packaging also caters for video cassettes, computer disks and wine bottles.

Bulk Mail -special discount rates and pick-up services are available to customers who send large numbers of parcels or letters.
Direct Mail -offers customers a direct mail consultative service. This is where one of our expert direct mail consultants visits the customer to offer advice on promotional campaigns.
Unaddressed Mail -is an economical and accurate way to reach new customers with advertising or promotional material without knowing their address. Australia Post can help target unaddressed mail campaigns.

Reply Paid -
is a pre-addressed envelope making it easy for prospective customers to respond
to an offer.There are no up-front fees, customers only pay postage for each reply received.
Prospecta -using census data, detailed consumer spending information, migration data, household age and climatic information, Pros-pecta can be used to profile potential and existing customers. This helps businesses to target their advertising to people most likely to buy their product.
AdPost -mailing discounts are available for direct mail that is personally addressed advertising and which meets certain criteria. Contact 13 11 18 for further information.
Competition Mail -Competition rebates apply if a business registers the competition with Australia Post 3 weeks before it commences.
PrintPost -is an economical way for businesses to send out magazines, books or periodicals that are sent at least twice a year.
AddressPost -provides a number of services for businesses to help track customers and increase the accuracy of direct mail lists, which can be updated on a daily basis. The result is reduced customer loss rate, lower administration costs and increased mail accuracy.
Custom Select -is a database that contains new data supplied by 6 million Australian households who have responded to Customselect's nationally distributed Family lifestyle Survey. With over 200 pieces of information about each survey respondent, businesses can determine the customer selection criteria to best match their product, service or special offer.

AMAS -The Address Matching Approval System is a quality certification program developed by Australia Post. The AMAs Program is designed to ensure that address matching and correction software meet the quality standards set by Australia Post and has the capability to append a unique barcode to each address record.
Business Services
POSTlogistics -is a Warehousing operation available in both Sydney and Melbourne which offers long and short-term storage requirements. Temperature controlled and monitored, the warehouse facilities can be used to store a range of finished goods. The warehouse management service also provides complete control over storage, fulfilment and distribution of inventory , allowing for a quick turnaround for order fulfilment.
Internet Fulfilment -Australia Post introduced refrigerated delivery vans in 1999 for Coles On-line, an internet supermarket shopping service. Post provides the home delivery of goods ordered and accepts payment at the door. The service is currently only available in selected Melbourne suburbs.
Business Banking -a pilot joint venture by Australia Post and the Commonwealth Bank
was launched in May 2000 to offer 30 rural communities access to business banking at their local Post Office.

Some goods are prohibited from the postal system. These dangerous goods include:

Poisons
Flammable liquids
Flammable solids
Radioactive material

Oxidising materials
Compressed gas -flammable and non-flammable
Corrosives
Other dangerous goods, eg. liquid helium and toys containing batteries (batteries     should be removed from the toy and packaged separately)
Other prohibited items are:
Living creatures
Offensive material
Items which menace or harass any person

 Pastes, powders and substances in tablet form
 Drugs and medicines, but only samples and prescriptions
