It is important to keep records up to date for several reasons:
- It is a timewaster if the business cannot quickly access this information
- It may be costly as important documents (that may include cheques or invoices) are not sent to the correct address
- This in turn can cause unnecessary delays that reflect poorly on the business
- Bulk mail-outs become costly because they do not reach the recipient - who may be waiting for the information
- There could be unfortunate consequences if emergency numbers / contact numbers for staff are not accurate.
