The Solar Tower Project

The EnviroMission Solar Tower will be the world's tallest human-made structure and the largest thermal power station ever built.

The tower is to be built in sunshine rich Mildura, Victoria, which is only 30km from the national power grid. It will produce enough power each year to meet the electricity demands of 200,000 households.

There are also plans for the Solar Tower to serve as a tourist attraction.

To find out how the tower will work, watch this animation.

The illustration shows the proposed Solar Tower compared to four other famous buildings – the Empire State building in Chicago, the Eiffel Tower in Paris, Sydney Tower and Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt. The Solar Tower its over twice the height of the other buildings.

The Solar Tower will dwarf other world famous structures. Shown here is the Great Pyramid (in Giza, Egypt), Sydney Tower, the Eiffel Tower (in Paris, France) and the Empire State building (in Chicago, USA).
