Place

Implications

Although the overall distribution of Australia’s population is not changing much, many urban areas are increasing in size as a result of population movement. This has resulted in a number of problems.

Here is an illustration with features that are typically associated with urbanisation. Can you spot at least five problems or issues in this urban area?

The drawing of an urban area has farmland at the left with a sign advertising land sales. The middle section has housing at the back, a playground in the middle and a rubbish tip front of it. A creek and industrial building is in the foreground and power pylons cross from front to back. On the right is a multi-lane highway and a fringe of low level buildings in front of a group of multi level buildings.
